Impact in the
New Learning Landscape
The AITD National Conference brings Australia’s learning and development community together to learn from each other, examine what is changing across our profession and share practical approaches that are making a difference.
AITD 2027 National Conference
Hotel Realm, Canberra
28–30 April 2027
Come to Canberra to learn, contribute and connect with Australia’s L&D community — and leave with ideas, approaches and relationships that will continue to be useful long after the conference is over.
Under the theme Impact in the New Learning Landscape, the conference will explore three areas increasingly shaping our work: the human edge, the advantage offered by technology, and the strategic influence of L&D within our organisations.
That means looking at the human capabilities that matter even more as technology advances; how AI and learning technologies can be used effectively and responsibly; and how L&D can better align with organisational priorities, demonstrate value and contribute to performance.
The 2027 conference will also have a greater emphasis on real practice. Expect to hear from practitioners and organisations about the challenges they have faced, what they tried, what worked, what they learned and what others can take from their experience. Alongside keynote speakers and broader perspectives, the program will include practical case studies, workshops, presentations, panels, research and shorter sessions across the three days.
The program is being developed around the breadth of professional capability identified in the AITD L&D Capability Framework — from learning design and facilitation through to evaluation and impact, learning culture, strategy and partnering, and the effective operation of L&D.
And importantly, this is a conference for the whole profession. It brings together people working across corporate organisations, government, higher education, VET, not-for-profits and consulting, from those building their careers through to experienced practitioners and L&D leaders.
It is an opportunity to step outside the day-to-day, see what others are doing, test your own thinking, develop your capability and build relationships with people who understand the work.
